I offer all styles of wedding photography, while my preferred style would similar to photojournalism. I work very hard to capture the story, emotion and romance of the day. Very often the best photographs of the bride, groom and their guests are taken when they aren't even aware they're being photographed. I encourage you to include time in your wedding's schedule for portraits (2 hours before the start of the wedding is usually a good amount of time.)

Do you photography in color or Black and White?

Color and black and white photography is included. During the post-processing phase (when I am sorting, cropping, correcting and preparing each photograph by hand) I will select a few photographs that I feel are particularly well suited for black and white printing, and I will include both color and black/white versions with your originals as well as some black and white proof book.

What type of digital cameras will you bring to my wedding? Do you have backups in case of problems with your equipment?

I use Canon. I will usually bring two cameras to each wedding, one as my main shooting camera, and one as a backup in the even that my main camera malfunctions. All of my equipment is well maintained and of the highest quality.

I use a 100% digital system to ensure rapid turn-around, consistent quality and lower prices.

What is included in every package?

On site photography by me, Cynthia Smith, using professional quality digital cameras. Working with you to coordinate your wedding day portraits and capturing the candid emotion of the day

throughout the ceremony and reception.

Extensive evaluation, enhancement and retouching of each photograph taken. For every hour I spend at your event I spend another four (at least) on retouching. I open each photograph on a professional calibrated monitor and adjust color, white balance and contrast. I crop each photograph to exclude distracting or unwanted elements.

Sorting all photographs into folders for your DVD so you can easily find your portraits, bridal candids and those special one-of-a-kind photographs.

Up to two pre-event consultations in preparation for your wedding day, wedding plans and photography needs. I strive to understand each couple's individual style and reflect that in the photographic record of the day.

Preparation of digital negatives on DVD, the postage for sending that DVD to you as well as the cost of creating a copyright assignment contract and registering your images.

A custom just-for-you password-protected web site designed by me. From here you can see your photographs. You can share this website with anyone you like so your family and friends can order prints and see your amazing wedding photographs (and they will be amazing!)

How many photos do you normally take at a wedding? Will I get all of those photos if I buy the copy-write privilages?

I normally will take 200 for a small wedding, to 1,200 for a larger event. I try to make sure that I have taken doubles and triples for some photos. I try to make sure that we capture all your special moments. So no you do not get all 1,200 shots, normally I try to make sure that you get at least 50% of the photos that were taken. What you do receive are the best of the best. You must remember that each photo has been opened up, review, and determined if it will be burned to the DVD or sent to the reject pile.

What forms of payment do you take?

Cash, check, money order, or PayPal.

Are you willing to travel to cover my wedding? Do you charge a travel fee?

I will travel a long way to cover a wedding. It usually is not a problem. If I need to fly I ask only that you cover the cost of the tickets or or mileage if I'm coming via car, hotel stay, and any meals paid for out of my pocket.

My wedding and reception are in different locations.Is there an extra fee for this? What if we would like to have photographs taken at a third or fourth location?

All of my wedding packages include unlimited locations. No problem, if you know where you want your photographs, tell me and I'm there -- I am working for you.

After the wedding will you work with us for additional customized images? What if we find a photograph we would like to have with digital color separation?

There is no fee for the custom image requests, including additional B/W or digital color separations. Keep in mind that you are getting the originals and can also have your printing vendor create B/W prints for you from the color originals.

After the wedding how long will it be before I receive my photos? Will I get a reminder to order my photos?

Well, that all depends on when you place your order, if it takes you six (6) months to place your order, then you will receive your prints six months after your wedding day. Yes, you will receive one reminder, after that it is up to you to place your order.

Do you include a website and DVD-ROM of my photographs? Does this require an extra fee?

I offer a website of up to 100 of the origionals and DVD(s) of all the origionals. If you cannot use DVDs, a multi-disk CD version will be created for you. The website is included for up a minium of two weeks after your wedding date, so that you can share your special day with family and friends at no extra charge.

I am planning a wedding and need a photographer ASAP, how much notice do you need for me to hire you?

If I have no wedding scheduled on the date you pick, then I will need 3 days (yes just 3) notice.
